On July 13, 2005, the replacement for Station One located at 2498
Dayton-Xenia Rd was opened for the first time. The new Fire Station
One, located at 2195 Dayton Xenia Road in Beavercreek Township, is
now in service. The new station has plenty of amenities, including:
- First
floor living quarters for on-duty crew (up to ten), Station Lieutenant,
and Battalion Chief
- Basement walk-out area with training rooms, server room & bunker,
and storage facility
- Five
drive-through bays with room for more than ten apparatus
- 30,000
square feet of usable space
- Computer
network connectivity to Beavercreek Township's microwave network
The old station had been in service for more than 50 years, and
was costing more money to maintain, yet still not providing
the Fire Department and community with common needs. In 2003, a ground-breaking
ceremony took place to begin building a replacement Fire Station.
Below are photos of the grand opening ceremony for new Fire Station
One, along with construction photos since 2003.
